Kroos spoke about the loss to Barcelona and the lack of hope at the club during the final stages of the season.
"That's really hard to swallow," Kroos said. "Two defeats in a row is unacceptable. It's not what Real Madrid is known for."
Kroos attributed the team's struggles to a negative atmosphere within the club, both among the players and staff, as well as among the fans.
"Maybe they were motivated," Kroos said. "I'm not saying they weren't. But it's just not enough on many levels."
Kroos also expressed his own disappointment and lack of hope for the team's future, saying that he had rarely felt so little optimism.
Real Madrid still has a few games left in the season, including matches against Real Oviedo, Sevilla, and Athletic Bilbao, before they can look forward to a summer overhaul and potentially a new coaching staff, with Jose Mourinho reportedly set to return.
